I'd love to be your buddy!

Checkers is a sweet, affectionate Mali-poo who's about 2 years old and 16 pounds.  He inherited his long legs from his poodle parent no doubt.  Poor checkers was in terrible shape when he came into the shelter as a stray, as you can see by his before shot.  Unfortunately the shelter gave him a chop job but his beautiful coat will grow back in no time.  Checkers is all about loving his person.  He's super affectionate and attentive and eager to please.  He's a gentle guy who I'm sure had some negative experiences in the past and is a little spooky on walks.  Having to fend for himself for who knows how long it's understandable.  Checkers is friendly with everyone he meets although a little on the shy side initially.  He's good with kids but older ones with a calmer household would suit him best.  If you're looking for a best friend you won't find a more devoted, loving one than Checkers.
