I'd love to be your buddy!

Amanda is a darling 2 year old poodle who weighs about 11 pounds.  It is unclear if owners dumped her at the shelter or she was found by someone and brought there.  Regardless, she had a sparkling personality from the time she entered the shelter.  She quickly became the staff favorite and everyone advocated for her rescue.  We obliged.  We took Amanada to an optholomologist specialist who told us that her blindness is congenital and Amanda has never seen.  Her retnia never completely developed.  That could be why she's so adept at getting around (like my personal dog that's been blind since birth) and why her spirit is so joyful - she has never known anything different.  Amanada is great with other dogs and amazingly confident in meeting new people.  You would think she might be shy and reserved but she has an uncanny way of sensing whenever anyone new comes around and she's always eager to greet them with exuberance.  Amanda is better on a leash that many of our sighted dogs as she always has an awarness of where you are and matches your pace.  You couldn't ask for a more affectionate and loving little girl.  She's super playful loves to play with her squeaky ball.  Amanda is a perfect example of how well sight impaired dogs do since their strongest sense is smell.  You have to meet this special little girl who will amaze you with her effusive demeanor :)
