I'd love to be your buddy!

Getty is as unique as he looks!  If you can imagine his entire body with long hair that looked like he was wearing a mop, that's his mug shot on his shelter paperwork.  A shelter worker got a hold of a clippers and pretended to be a groomer - which leaves poor Getty with what he has now.  A funky hairdo :(

Aside from his peculiar look, he also lost a toe in his harrowing stray ordeal.  When he finally ended up in the shelter, his foot was in bad shape.   Christmas Eve was when we got him out, just in the nick of time.  We had to hospitalize him for a week because he was on the verge of loosing his whole paw to gangrene!  Fortunately he only had to have a toe amputated and he healed up well, minus a digit.  Getty is a timid, affectionate guy - the sweet docile type that inches his way towards you.  He  definitely ended up on the run from a bad situation.  But thanks to our wonderful foster home, Getty has been blossoming into a more confident, happier dog.  Getty is good with other dogs and kids and doesn't bark.  He's come a long way and it's very special being a part of the transformation.   Getty is looking forward to the new chapter in his life starting out with a forever home.
